David A. Patterson

Professor Emeritus, UC Berkeley

David A. Patterson received the 2017 ACM A.M. Turing Award with John Hennessy and is a co-creator of the RISC and RISC-V instruction set architectures. As Professor Emeritus at UC Berkeley, he led the Berkeley RISC research project in the 1980s. Its reduced instruction set ideas shaped more than four decades of processor design and directly contributed to the creation of RISC-V. He also introduced the RAID storage architecture concept and co-authored the seminal textbooks Computer Architecture A Quantitative Approach and Computer Organization and Design with Hennessy. In 2018, he helped launch the RISC-V International Open Source Laboratory, RIOS Lab, to advance global academic and industry collaboration around the RISC-V ecosystem.

Andrea Gallo

CEO, RISC-V International

Andrea Gallo is CEO of RISC-V International, where he leads the global ecosystem expansion and industry adoption of the open RISC-V instruction set architecture. He previously served as Vice President of Technology at RISC-V International, overseeing technical programs and standards development. Earlier, he spent more than a decade at Arm ecosystem organization Linaro, serving as Vice President of Business Development and leading membership strategy and open-source collaboration programs across data center and cloud, mobile, networking, IoT, and embedded markets. He previously served as a Fellow at STMicroelectronics and as a board member of the Linux Foundation's CHAOSS project.
